Hospital dressing down

FRUSTRATED WITH THE poor standard of dress Barbadians consistently exhibited at the Outpatients Clinic of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), staff took matters into their own hands this week.

The clinic officials manufactured an “ad hoc” new dress code notice, informing visitors that with effect from April 1, those doing business at the facility would not be allowed in unless adhering to certain “rules” of attire.

But the move backfired yesterday, when hospital management asked the staff to remove the unofficial notice since it did not meet the required standard of the QEH.

The sign warned clinic visitors that no persons would be allowed in wearing low-cut, revealing blouses or dresses, sagging pants, frayed or cut-up pants, revealing boxers, or “pum-pum” (short) shorts. (BA)
