DEAR CHRISTINE: Wary of getting remarried

Date:

Share post:

DEAR CHRISTINE, I have a girl I love very much and she is always saying things she has no right to say. When I ask her about them, she says that I get vexed at everything and that I am a confused man.

Christine, my mother and I don’t get on well and I spend most of my time with this girl. When she is at work and I am at home, I will take care of the laundry for her and make the home tidy.

Christine, I would like to marry her because I love her very much but I don’t know what to do as yet because I was married before and had to get a divorce.

I would not like what happened already to happen again because the girls today change very fast and I am not a fast going man. I would just like to settle down and live a good life. Please tell me what to do.

H.P

Dear H.P:

It would be a risk going through with a marriage if there is not a reasonable amount of pleasant companionship between you and this girl. If you feel what you are saying to her is important and she just brushes you off I don’t see how you’re going to be happy with her.

I think you should tell her your intentions but also tell her of your anxieties and see if she would agree to giving you a proper hearing and reply if she does not feel the way you do about certain things.

You must not expect her to agree with everything you say. But even in her disagreement, you are entitled to a certain courtesy. If she insists on belittling every reasonable thing you say, then I’d even slow down some more as regards getting married to her.

You don’t want to end with another divorce don’t you? So play your cards right and make certain that you keep your eyes and ears open to what this young woman says.

CHRISTINE
