“When the wind blows, leaves and stuff go in that recess. The owners of the property should put up a gate to stop those from going in. I’m afraid that if a car backfires or someone thoughtlessly throws in a match or cigarette, then that gas could explode and destroy the district,” he said.

The meter belongs to a neighbour who runs a large estate on Dover fenced off by “galvanise”. Because the meter is located on the back end of the property, along Syndicate Lane, the fence has been built around the meter so National Petroleum Corporation (NPC) workers could easily access it for reading purposes. . .
