A THREE-VEHICLE COLLISION yesterday left 21 people injured, five seriously, as Holy Week entered its most solemn period leading up to Easter Day.
The mass casualty incident involving a minibus, car and van took place at Porey Spring, St Thomas, at around 3 p.m. and triggered new calls for more care by motorists in what has been a deadly year so far on the roads.
Some of the passengers on the minibus were bloodied and appeared to be in shock as they lay on the road in pain, too dazed to speak of their harrowing experience.
Most complained about injuries to their legs and bodies.
One managed to say that the minibus was heading from Hillaby to Bridgetown when the accident occurred on the stretch between Porey Spring and the Rock Hall junction. (AD)
