INWON COULD BE the hero in today’s feature 1 570 metres Right Excellent Sir Grantley Adams Handicap at 4:35 p.m. on the 10th and final day of the Barbados Turf Club’s first racing season at the Garrison Savannah.

This beautifully bred five-year-old bay horse should make a welcome return to the winner’s enclosure against his other three opponents on the Heroes Day race day. Eight races are carded, starting at 2 p.m.

Inwon, a son of 2004 Belmont Stakes winner Birdstone, who was mothered by Spring, is just one of many fine quality imports that his owners, brothers Daniel and Martyn Raizmanthe, have brought to Barbados.

He has won five races from 16 career starts, starting on Boxing Day 2014 with a maiden 1 570 metres condition race before proceeding to earn a beaver-trick of wins after which came some injury setbacks. This limited him to only two starts in 2016 and just three this year, including a seventh-place finish in the Gold Cup.
