A ONE million-dollar event.
That’s how chairman of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC), Mark Hamilton, is billing next month’s Sol Barbados Rally, the Caribbean’s biggest motorsport event.
“It is not that Sol has written the Barbados Rally Club a cheque for that amount, but it’s all the attendant costs associated with the staging of the event that brings it to that amount over a five-day period,” Hamilton said.
He was speaking at a media conference at the Accra Hotel Spa yesterday, called to announce plans for the staging of the June 2 to 4 event that has attracted 93 starters over 22 stages. (TT)
