DON’T AUTOMATICALLY REMAND illegal CARICOM nationals to Dodds Prison when they appear in court on minor criminal matters.
This is the plea of defence attorney and political aspirant Arthur Holder, who yesterday submitted that such action was against the spirit of CARICOM.
And he has found some support from Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite.
The matter surfaced yesterday as Holder was defending Teri Alicia Forde, a Guyanese national here illegally, in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant. She pleaded guilty to causing a disturbance on Wellington Street, The City, on May 13. (TS)
