BSTU members gather for talks

TEACHERS WERE THIS AFTERNOON trickling in to Solidarity House as they in preparation to meet with their union leaders.

The Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union called the meeting of its members to address “very recent developments of very serious concern”.

Matters on the table are the “unfair dismissal” of BSTU members from the Learning Centre, Combermere School and the St Michael School and denial of their rights, as well as the formulation of an action plan for possible implementation should the Ministry of Education follow through with its plan to dock the pay of teachers who took part in the April 5 March of Respect.

BSTU president Mary Redman has promised to speak to the media after members have had their meeting. (HLE)
