Dell, Spencer top multi-events

SAMIYA DELL and Aren Spencer have virtually booked their ticket to Trinidad and Tobago for the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NCAC) Multi-Event Junior Championships from July 14 to 15.

They repeated as champions in both Combined Events meets staged by the Athletics Association of Barbados at the National Stadium over the past two weeks.

Dell followed up her performance in Meet 1, which was held on April 29 and 30, when she amassed 2 656 points in the combined five events for Under-13 girls with another sterling effort last Saturday and Sunday, gaining 2 789 points.

The Sharon Primary student clocked 8:45 seconds in the 60-metre dash, leapt 4.59 metres in the long jump and cleared 1.49 metres in the high jump. She also completed the 800 metres in 2:47.77 in minutes and three 42.08 metres in the cricket ball throw. (EZS)
