PM warns Caricom of OAS

ST VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES’ outspoken Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves, has sent off a letter of concern to fellow CARICOM Heads of Government, warning them of actions taken by the Organisation of American States (OAS) against Venezuela.

“There are insidious developments at the Organisation of American States that should trouble each of us,” he wrote to his colleagues.

“Among these developments is the introduction of a World Trade organisation ‘green room type’ process which a small group of powerful states in the Organisation are seeking to impose their will on the decision of (CARICOM) member states,” Gonsalves added.

“A handful of powerful countries with an agenda of self-interest has strategically invited selected CARICOM countries to their meetings, and ignored the others. (BA/PR)
