Rally stars ready to rock

MOTOR SPORT FANS enjoyed a treat on Tuesday when they got the opportunity to meet two-time Flow King of the Hill champion Jeff Panton and his navigator Michael Fennell at the Rubis service station at Mapp Hill, St Michael.

Local rally drivers Roger Mayers, Sean Corbin and Barry Mayers and Ben Norris were also on hand.

Jamaican Panton said he was looking forward to making his mark during Friday night’s opening stage of Sol Rally Barbados after a flawless run last weekend.

“The night scene is nothing new to us or the Bajans. It just so happens that it’s in the first stage of the event, but the strategy, as always, is to go out from the beginning and try to build a margin, hopefully building a cushion that we can relax over the next two days,” Panton told NATION SPORT.
