BUSINESSWOMAN Asha “Mrs Ram” Mirchandani, whose business Liquidation Centre borders the proposed Hyatt Centre on Bay Street, St Michael, is giving 100 per cent support to the project.
And she has slammed those opposing it, describing their position as “nonsense”.
“I’m not trying to touch on David Comissiong, I’m not trying to touch on anybody. I think every citizen of Barbados has a right to say things they feel strongly about, but there has to be constructive criticism . . . . Reality is investment, reality is money coming to the country, reality is giving jobs to the people,” she told the DAILY NATION.
Comissiong, a social activist and attorney, is seeking a judicial review of Prime Minister Freundel Stuart’s decision to grant permission for construction of the 15-storey, multimillion-dollar project in his capacity as minister responsible for town planning. (WILLCOMM)
