A TROPICAL WAVE is approaching Barbados and should reach by tomorrow, but there might not be too much weather deterioration.
Meteorological officer of the Barbados Meteorological Office, David Harding, said that between today and tomorrow, the weather could change, but there was a Sahara dust layer in the atmosphere that resulted in the hazy conditions yesterday.
“The haze would limit convection which could stifle the deterioration of the weather system,” he told DAILY NATION.
“If that dust gets into the atmosphere we could get even less rainfall . . . . It could inhibit cloud development.”
Barbados experienced some showers in the late hours of Saturday and yesterday as a result of the wave.
Today the island will see some relief with a high pressure system being the dominant feature before the tropical wave is felt tomorrow evening and into Wednesday morning. (LK)
