Durrant makes winning return

A CAKEWALK.

It was a stroll in the park for established competitors Martinus Durrant and Shakira Doughlin at the St Michael Bodybuilding and Physique Classic at the Lester Vaughan School on Saturday night.

The men’s open was devalued with the late withdrawals of Sammy Eastmond, Ramon Broomes and Kirk Alleyne. There were just two entrants – Durrant and 34-year-old Roderick Lashley, competing in only his second contest.

If the competition was badly lacking in numbers, Durrant, on the comeback trail and the tall Lashley, who is under the guidance of former International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) pro Jerry Nicholls, provided much quality. (MK)
