PREROGATIVE HOUSE in St George turned from a house of merriment to one of horror after two men were hacked to death between Saturday night and the wee hours of yesterday.

The gruesome discovery of the bodies of the elderly owner of the plantation house, which hosts wedding receptions and other social events, and his tenant brought the number of murders for the year to 17, according to police.

Returning national Vincent Robinson, 80, was found at his front door in a pool of blood, while Guyanese-born Tony Singh, 49, his tenant, was discovered in an upstairs bedroom.

Sources said they both had been cut up about the body.  (RA)
