ONLY FOUR DESIGNERS are in with a shot at winning that prize of a new car at stake for Kadooment masqueraders in this year’s Crop Over competition.

The car, a Mazda 2 valued at $68 000, is being offered by the National Cultural Foundation and MQI to the Best Festival Designer (the Robert Weekes Award), along with $7 500 cash.

Those eligible are Kevin Small of Fifth Element, Mackie Holder of Wednesday 2000, Gwyneth Squires of the Gwyneth Squires Band and Marlon Brewster of Jump Promotions.

The rules state that the prize for the Best Festival Designer will be judged over two competitions – Junior and Grand Kadooment, which means only those designers with bands in both competitions will be eligible for the award. (NS)
