LONG-STANDING board member Winston Stafford is hoping his loyalty, experience in administration, plans for infrastructural improvement of clubs, coaching education and training for ground staff, will land him the post of honorary secretary of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).

Stafford, 76, will be running against incumbent Anthea Ishmael and lawyer Gregory Nicholls but will also vie for one of the five positions for board members at the 15th special meeting of members on July 27.

“I have spent ten years on the board and I’ve enjoyed being a part of the good times and bad times. I’ve had my share of successes. Some things which have not gone the way that I would’ve wanted but I am a stayer.

“I will not run away from issues when they come to fore,” Stafford told SUNSPORT in an interview yesterday. (EZS)
