THE SBAs were marked after all.
Despite a protracted battle between the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU) and Government over whether teachers should be required to correct them, this year’s Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) School-Based Assessments (SBA) have been marked.
Minister of Education Ronald Jones has praised the teachers who corrected the SBAs, but president of the Barbados Secondary Teachers Union (BSTU), Mary Redman, said their action was tantamount to “slavery”.
Jones told the DAILY NATION that the SBAs were corrected by a cadre of teachers from multiple schools who “responded to their profession” and corrected the students’ work. (AD)
