Safety upgrades for Westmoreland

SAFETY improvements are coming to the danger junction at Westmoreland on the Ronald Mapp Highway.

That assurance has been given to residents of Westmoreland, St James and surrounding districts by Minister of Transport and Works Michael Lashley.

Speaking during a town hall meeting at the Westmoreland Church of Nazarene on Wednesday night, Lashley said he was fully aware of the issues facing residents.

However, he explained that before any changes could be made to the highway, the technical staff at the Ministry of Transport and Works would first have to be consulted. (RB)
