Evening of pure gold

GOLDEN SOCA MUST have been the hot ticket event on Saturday evening.

More than 1 000 people attended the fete/show at the Sea Rocks Dome where they partied for five straight hours to vintage and present-day calypsos played by the DJ and sung by the stellar line-up of artistes.

Performers such as Sweet Soca monarch Red Plastic Bag, Party monarch Lil Rick, Sweet Soca finalists Nikita, TC, and Shaquille, Party Monarch finalists Ras Iley and Grynner, Biggie Irie, Mac Fingall, and stalwarts PJ, Serenader, De Devil and Cut Loose. Philip St Hill’s comedic sketch was hilarious.

Backed by the sweet sounding Golden Soca Band, all the performers delivered, satisfying the huge audience comprising old and young partygoers whose main aim seemed to be to dance, sing along to the sweet music from Crop Over 2017 and yesteryear and thoroughly enjoy themselves at the big people party where no one poses.
