BARBADOS WILL NOW have to settle a third-place play-off match against Trinidad and Tobago at the Caribbean Junior Badminton Championships in Trinidad and Tobago.

After brushing aside Guyana 4-1 in the morning session to advance to the semi-finals, Barbados lost 3-1 against the No. 1 seed Dominican Republic in an afternoon match, missing a place in the final at the National Racquet Centre.

Keshem Moore gave Barbados an excellent start when he prevailed over Daniel Acosta 18-21, 21-16, 21-15 in an exciting three-setter.

Amanda Haywood did not get to taste victory in the girls’ singles where she was defeated by Nairobi Jimenez 21-18, 21-10. (EZS)
