Housing repairs plan for elderly

YESTERDAY SHE CRIED.

The tears running down Vadmay Couse’s sad face were, in part, because she turns 73 today and it marks another birthday where she is in less than ideal living conditions.

Her voice broke when she opened up and related the main source of her worry.

“I feel unsafe in this house and that it may fall down on me or something. I just want some way to go, or to get it fixed up or something. The flooring ain’t nuh good.

“The top of the house ain’t nuh good. Good thing that we ain’t had nuh wind last time they had the hurricanes, or not I won’t stand in there,” she said. (YB)
