THE SUDDEN RESIGNATION of president Winslow Greaves will force the Barbados Draughts Association (BDA) to convene an emergency meeting to fill his post.
Greaves resigned from the top position during a heated special general meeting at the National Sports Council (NSC) on August 23.
Sources told WEEKENDSPORT that for weeks there had been some unrest within the association surrounding lack of endorsements by Greaves which would have allowed players to compete in overseas tournaments.
An irate assistant secretary Michael Barker said it was customary for the president of the association to give approval to letters from members before forwarding them to the NSC which would assist with funding. (RG)
