BL&P issues statement on St Philip outages

Share post:

THE BARBADOS LIGHT & Power Company Ltd. sincerely apologises to customers in St Philip, who were affected by a series of outage events on Saturday, September 9.

Customers between Marchfield and Merricks in St Philip and surrounding areas would have experienced quick off/on cycles of their power as well as longer outages.

The unusual response by our protection device to a standard activity is being investigated, and was mitigated on the night of the event to limit customer disruptions. Our crews were able to safely restore power by 10:24 p.m.

Our engineering and technical teams continue to conduct further investigation to verify the root cause and to prevent any recurrence of this type of service disruption to our customers.

We thank you for your understanding. (PR)
