Man facing firearms charge

POLICE HAVE ARRESTED and charged Rochad Kadeem Bryan, 23, of Fairy Valley, Christ Church with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of one round of ammunition.

These offences were allegedly committed on Friday, September 15, along Gibbons Road, Christ Church.

Police encountered Bryan driving a motor car along Cane Vale Road, Christ Church, and signaled for him to stop. Bryan attempted to escape from the officers and was later intercepted along Gibbons Road, Christ Church.

Further investigations revealed that he was in possession of the firearm and ammunition.

Bryan was arrested and subsequently charged. He appeared before Magistrate Elwood Watts in the Oistins Magistrates Court on Monday, September 18.

He was remanded to prison and will reappear in the Oistins Magistrates Court on October 12, and the District ‘B’ Magistrates Court on September 28, on a separate charge. (PR)
