STAFF AT St Leonard’s Boys’ School were off the job for the second time in less than a week yesterday.
Principal Joseph Maynard said he could not comment “as principal”, but a source on the ground confirmed that some teachers and other staff were in fact off the job.
The DAILY NATION understands that the Richmond Gap, St Michael school remained open yesterday, but was closed half-day last Friday when staff were also off the job.
Mary Redman, president of the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU), which represents some of the staff, said she had heard reports and was in the process of investigating the alleged work stoppages last Friday and yesterday. (YB)
