Drainage problems have been blamed for the foul smelling sewage water that flowed into Hastings Main Road yesterday.
It’s an issue, said manager of the Barbados Water Authority’s Waste Water Recovery Programme Patricia Inniss, that the BWA has been looking into for some time.
But she has assured Barbadians that the Authority was working to make sure that no such issues would be plaguing the South Coast when the winter tourist season starts in a matter of weeks.
Yesterday morning, in the wake of heavy rains dumped on the island by a trough system and the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone, sewage water started to flow from under a manhole cover in the road near KFC and Lanterns Mall. (HLE)
