GEORGETOWN – It was a tough start for Barbados at the 2017 Indoor Pan American Cup at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Guyana yesterday with both the men’s and women’s teams suffering losses.

The Lady Tridents were thrashed 14-1 by Argentina and also were trounced 5-1 by Canada while the men narrowly lost to hosts, Guyana 5-4.

Argentina’s Carina Guzman opened the scoring as early as the first minute and went on to net three more quick goals in the second, third and seventh minute completing her beaver trick.

Joesfina Castaneda followed on from Guzman, scoring two goals in the ninth and 12th minutes. At this stage the score was 6-0 to Argentina. (EZS/PR)
