The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has come in for a tongue-lashing for its poor response to complaints of five burst pipes, at least three in one community.
Carl Goodridge is upset since for the last ten days at least he has been trying unsuccessfully to get someone at the BWA to respond to his, and other residents’ calls, to fix three burst pipes in Jessamine Avenue, Bayville, St Michael.
Goodridge, who called for the heads of all BWA staff, said two of the three pipes have been leaking for ten months, adding the authority was aware of that, while the most recent has been running for 11 days.
“When I call, a receptionist at the Water Works she tells me she will transfer me and to press this number and that number, but every time I hit the button up to now I ain’t hear nobody. After the third day of that foolishness I tell she I ain’t calling back, let me speak to somebody on the telephone.” (LK)
