Porey Spring man on gun, ammunition charges

Members of the Anti-Gun Unit have arrested and formally charged a St Thomas man with unlawful possession of a firearm and seven rounds of ammunition.

He is 58-year-old Leon Dacosta Hoyte, also referred to as Leon Dacosta Sealy, of Porey Spring.

He was arrested after lawmen executed a warrant at his residence and discovered the illegal items.

Hoyte appeared before Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District “D” Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded to prison.

He will reappear in court on January 10, 2018. (PR/NB)
