The Barbados Light & Power Company says it has been working to restore power a number of St John communities since yesterday evening.

A large tree fell in Wilson Hill just before 7 p.m. on December 12 causing several other trees to fall.

Their fall damaged a section of BL&P’s high voltage line and this left several customers in the surrounding communities of Venture, Mount Tabor, Sherbourne and others without electricity.

Work has started to restore power to the affected residents following the clearing of the trees and road by personnel from the Ministry of Public Works.

Three crews are on site and they will work safely to restore power as quickly as possible.

The Barbados Light & Power Company Limited wishes to apologise for the inconvenience caused to customers affected by this incident.  (PR/NB)
