Three musical icons with more than 100 combined years as ambassadors of Barbados’ calypso and soca music are set to be honoured in a big way.
Come next year, seven-time Road March king MacDonald The Mighty Grynner Blenman, ten-time Pic-O-De-Crop Monarch and Cultural Ambassador Stedson Red Plastic Bag Wiltshire, along with entertainer, comedian extraordinaire and educator, Mac Fingall, will be immortalised with their own wax figures.
They will join the company of other seminal historical, cultural and political figures such as: Lil Rick, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, Marcus Garvey, Obadele Thompson, Alison Hinds, Sam Lord, who have also been paid homage to by the Caribbean Wax Museum.
The announcement was made on Thursday night during the official re-opening of the Caribbean Wax Museum, the first of its kind in the region and Latin America. It began two years ago in Maxwell, Christ Church, however, it has now been relocated to Norman Centre, The City. (SDB Media)
