The quiet community of St Lawrence, Christ Church was rocked this morning by the news of the death of one of its long-standing residents.

Minutes before the sun rose to mark the start of the penultimate week before the Holy week, lifelong St Lawrence resident, 55-year-old Laura Springer was found dead in her home.

“It got the whole neighbourhood shake up, I know what I’m telling you, because we never went through anything like this here yet,” one crying resident said on the scene of the incident.

As several police combed the scene at Springer’s pink, one-storey wall house, public relations officer of the Royal Barbados Police Force Inspector (ag.) Rodney Inniss said the police were treating the matter as an unnatural death.

He said law enforcement received a report around 6:30 am and upon entry of her home, found the lifeless body of Springer.

Investigations are continuing. (AD)
