Although the two top teams and those bound for Division 1 have already been decided, the standings for the 2018 Premier League will be set in stone by the end of Sunday after the final round of games this weekend.

With fixtures set for tomorrow and Sunday at the Barbados Football Association’s Wildey AstroTurf, the other teams will know exactly where they sit when the final out-of-zone fixtures are played.

In Zone 1, defending champions Weymouth Wales have topped things there and will be advancing to the championship play-off. They have kept things tidy in their camp to come away as the only unbeaten team thus far with 13 wins and two draws for 41 points in the 15 games played.

Paradise are currently second in the group with 29 points after nine wins, two draws and four losses. They remain in striking range of Brittons Hill United who have 26 points from eight wins, two draws and five losses.

Empire are next in line and have racked up seven wins, two draws and six losses for 23 points. They could end up in the relegation play-off should they lose their final game and Clayton’s Kola Tonic Notre Dame (21) get themselves together. After a sound start this season, they have been in poor form and have managed to find themselves in fifth place with seven wins and eight losses.

Making their way back to Division 1 after coming back this season is Abrahams United Silver Sands. With a commendable performance in the Williams Equipment Preseason Cup, their form fizzled to see them losing 11 games, winning two and drawing two to be on just eight points.

At the top of Zone 2 are the many-time champions Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme and they have slogged their way to 35 points with 11 wins, two draws and two losses. They will be heading to the championship final to face Wales as they have an unassailable lead in the group.

In an untouchable second place is University of the West Indies Blackbirds with 30 points. They had a phenomenal turnaround in the League to get to where they are and have racked up nine wins, three draws and three losses after a very poor start.

Crane and Equipment Ellerton will be staying in the top tier as well as they are on 21 points in third place. They have an even split of six wins and six losses with three draws.

Managing to stay alive after their top flight debut are Mark’s Auto Spares Porey Spring (9). They have had a baptism by fire with just one win to show for their time here after taking six draws and eight losses.

Depending on what happens in Zone 1 this weekend, whoever ends up in fifth place will be going up against Home Improvement Hardware Compton in the relegation play-off as they are in fifth in Zone 2. They have not won any games and stand on four points from four draws and 11 losses.

After a meteoric rise to the Premier League a few years ago, Rendezvous will be going down to Division 1 at the end of this season. Having their worst year yet, they are on minus 5 after having what little points they earned stripped through default games. Their stats are one win, four draws and ten losses.

In tomorrow’s action, the two demotees Rendezvous and Silver Sands go head-to-head at 5 p.m. Up next will be Ellerton and Empire at 7 p.m. while Porey Spring and Notre Dame close things off at 9 p.m. On Sunday, Brittons Hill go up against the Sports Programme in the first game at 4 p.m. Compton and Paradise have a date at 6 p.m., while the nightcap goes to Wales and the Blackbirds at 8 p.m. (BFA)
