Child advocate Shelly Ross is fighting to have two boys who were involved in a disturbance at the St Leonard’s Boys’ Secondary School reinstated.

Ross said she had written new Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw, outlining that the boys were only 15 years old and had not been to school since the incident in February.

“This is wrong; this is illegal; they have been criminalised and are being denied an education. They have just been turned out on the streets,” Ross charged.

She added that a 16 year-old boy “who had instigated the fight and who was the aggressor” was back at the Richmond Gap, St Michael school shortly after the incident.

“Why not these too?” she asked. (MB)
