While sewage has been off the streets of the south coast for the last two months, things aren’t getting easier for the South Coast Sewerage Treatment System.
But Minister of Water Resource Management Wilfred Abrahams has assured the public that Government is doing all it can to finally bring a fix to the long-running issue.
In a press conference this morning, Abrahams, along with Barbados Water Authority (BWA) general manager Keithroy Halliday explained the authorities would soon be moving to construct an outfall from the Graeme Hall Swamp to complement the series of other pre-existing mitigation measures.
With the building of this outfall and the continued use of the disposal wells at the South Coast Sewage Treatment Plant in Graeme Hall, Abrahams said Government would looking to fix the breaches on both the inflow line and force main. (AD)
