Acting Governor General Ken Hewitt paid a visit to centenarian Albert Weatherhead today at his Pine Gardens, St Michael home. This was his first such visit.

Weatherhead, a former athlete. pharmaceutical manager and World War II medic, said little but was smiling throughout the visit.

His son, Dr Louis Weatherhead, said his father was fair, honest and strict and remained active until a stroke five years ago.

The elder Weatherhead has three children and six grandchildren.

Hewitt lauded Weatherhead’s achievements and said too often such people went unrecognised. (CA)
