A national clean-up on our island’s roads will include the removal, from next week, of parked cars advertised for sale on the highway. This is in contravention of the Road Traffic Act.

The Minister of Transport, Works and Maintenance, Dr William Duguid, is asking all people who try to advertise vehicles by parking them on the highway to desist, from this activity.

“The Ministry will be carrying out a programme of removing cars that are parked on the highway, from next week,” he said, adding that: “These vehicles are a hazard to other road users and this practice must be brought to an end”.

There will be a cost attached to reclaiming vehicles that have been removed. (MTWM)
