Guyana open to investment

Guyana’s President David Granger has served notice that his country is open to Barbadian investment, particularly in the area of land development.

Speaking to the NATION on Wednesday at the end of the Ninth Meeting of the Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, he said Guyana “has the land and we would like to welcome Barbadian capital”.

He commended Prime Minister Mia Mottley for “pumping new life” into the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), adding the free movement was going to help the Caribbean since this was a big part of the concept of CSME.

Mottley has been spearheading efforts to make freedom of movement by CARICOM nationals a reality. (GC)
