Some of Barbados’ most heavily used roads are in for an upgrade under the Road Construction Programme.

And while there will be some disruptions as contractors work on five major roads, some along the ABC Highway, the teams are expected to work around the clock to minimise headaches.

At the launch of Phase One of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)-funded project, Minister of Transport, Works and Maintenance Dr William Duguid said contractors would be ready to start shortly.

“They told us they are ready to start, I would imagine, within the next week to two weeks, and I want it to be started and finished as quickly as possible to minimise the disruption on our roadways,” Duguid said. (TG)
