An occupant of a Crest View, Eden Lodge, St Michael house that was damaged in a fire yesterday, suspects an electric fan she bought on sale that day could be responsible.

“I went to Town this morning to buy a fan and a mosquito net,” said Maria Lewis.

“I bought the fan for $50 and I was like, good I got a deal. When I got home, I fell asleep. When I woke up, I turned off everything and left home and as soon as I stepped in the street,  my neighbour said smoke coming from the house,” she said.

The 50-year-old woman, who lives in New Jersey, said she was taken aback at the time it took for the house to catch fire. (SB)
