A St Peter businessman is urging businesses to invest in state-of-the-art security systems in order to catch thieves.

Mohammed Bhana, the owner of Bhana’s Everything Store, which has been operating in Speightstown for the past 14 years, said security systems were a necessity in deterring burglars from breaking into business places.

“There is no doubt that it is needed. . . The li’l investment of $1 500 or $2 000 pays off. I never really used to monitor them, but then I had an incident in July, so from there I had to monitor my cameras fully.”

Bhana was speaking to the Nation on Thursday hours after a man was taken into police custody in connection with breaking into his store, an arcade and a bar. (SB)
