Late Wednesday evening, officials from the Ministry of Education were locked in a meeting with management of Grantley Adams Memorial School, as students continued their protest action for the third consecutive day.

Joy Gittens, Deputy Chief Education Officer, and Patricia Warner, Senior Education Officer, met with Jonathan Lewis, chairman of the school, as well as principal Valdez Francis, the deputy, Sandra Murray, and other officials at the Blackman’s, St Joseph secondary school.

The students began their protest on Monday after they were banned from purchasing food from outside vendors.

However, hundreds of them have vowed to “stay hungry” until the bell rings at the end of school. (MB)
