Schoolboy title up for grabs

Mr Schoolboy, one of the most coveted junior bodybuilding competitions, is slated for tomorrow evening at Lester Vaughan Secondary School with six teenagers vying for the title.

Jayde Germain, who was second among the juniors at this year’s National Championships and third in Mr Teenager, will start as favourite. Germain, 16, will represent the Government Industrial School (GIS).

The other five entrants are R’Son Knight, of GIS, Israel Holford and Ashkielan John, of Daryll Jordan Secondary, Royeal Gaskin, of Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology, and Cameron Edwards, of Frederick Smith Secondary.

These will be seeking to join a long list of champions that include past national champions William Prescott, Lindon Belgrave, Nigel Griffith, Laron Gibson, Ramon Broomes and Shaquile Lavine. (MK)
