Two-time defending champions Bayley’s are now one victory away from an unprecedented hat-trick of titles in the Guardian Group Herman Griffith Primary Schools Cricket Competition.

The perennial finalists were given a slight scare before defeating a spirited Eden Lodge by 26 runs in Wednesday’s semi-final at the Maurice King Sports Complex, Briar Hall.

Batting first, Bayley’s were in a spot of trouble at 45 for five as the Eden Lodge camp started to jump for joy.

However, captain Renaldo Bourne led from the front as he compiled a patient topscore of 40 to lead a recovery as Bayley’s rallied to 137 for six off their 25 overs. (EZS)
