The Barbados Met Office has discontinued the high-wind advisory for Barbados , while a small craft warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow.

The warning means that marine operators will be affected.

Last week the warning was issued as a western Atlantic high pressure system generated strong surface winds and above-normal north-easterly to easterly sea swells across Barbados and its coastal waters.

However, the Met Office issued a statement today indicating that conditions have deteriorated and sea bathers are being cautioned to expect large waves and rip tides near beaches. (PR)
