Pride fall behind

IN THIS era of regional first-class cricket, a score of 360 would be regarded as substantial and satisfactory.

But this wasn’t the case at Kensington Oval yesterday, as Barbados Pride batsmen generally flattered to deceive, even though Shane Dowrich and Jonathan Carter hit vital half-centuries.
The upshot was Barbados Pride, despite a valiant effort, still fell 188 runs short, replying to Guyana Jaguars’ daunting first innings total of 548 in their top-of-the-table third round clash.

This meant Barbados Pride are still at the mercy of four-time defending champions, Guyana Jaguars, who are likely to enforce the follow-on and hunt a third straight victory in the 2018-2019 tournament on today’s last day. (EZS)
