BWA experiencing problems in its distribution system

The Barbados Water Authority would like to inform the public that today February 1, it continues to experience problems in its distribution network which have resulted in water outages or low pressure in the following areas:

St. Thomas –  Upper Redman’s Village, Kew Land, Bagatelle, Welches and surrounding areas;

St. Joseph – Horse Hill, Suriname, Lammings, Chimborazo, Sugar Hill, Yearwood Road and surrounding areas;

St. John – Edgecliff, Horton’s Village, Clifton Hall and surrounding areas.

 The Authority is also today carrying out repairs to suspected bursts on mains in Prior Park Terrace, St. James; Chance Hall, Hope Road and Half Acre in St. Lucy; Durants in Christ Church and Applewhaites in St. Thomas.

Yesterday evening, BWA crews carried out investigations into a leak seen on a main in Villa Road, Brittons Hill, St. Michael which was then repaired last night. However, checks revealed a malfunctioning valve in the area which is being replaced today Friday. This repair work has caused the residents of Brittons Hill, Paddock Road, Deighton Road and surrounding areas in St. Michael to be without running water for the duration of the work.

Water tankers have been dispatched to assist customers in the all of the affected districts. (PR)
