Notice from Ministry of Health and Wellness

Members of the public are advised that the emergency services are currently dealing with a fire at the Mangrove Landfill in St. Thomas. Communities in the area of Arch Hall and Bennetts are expected to be impacted by heavy smoke. 

The Ministry of Health and Wellness is advising persons with Asthma or other respiratory illnesses to leave these and surrounding areas until conditions improve. 

Persons who are feeling unwell are advised to seek medical attention as soon as possible. 

The emergency services are taking all necessary steps to bring the situation at the Mangrove Landfill under control. (BGIS)
