Three murder accused remanded

Yesterday police arrested and charged 25-year-old Jaleel Kadeem Callender, of Block 2D Barbarees Gardens, Barbarees Hill, St Michael and Jalen Trimal Jones-Cox, 18, of Kings Gap, Eagle Hall, St Michael with murder.

The two were remanded until Monday, April 1.

Shamar Recardo James, 33, of Murphy’s Pasture, Chapman Lane, St Michael was charged with supplying a firearm to Jaleel Callender.

Lamar Alex Hewitt, 27, of 7th Avenue New Orleans, St Michael was charged with murder, and also faced charges of supplying a firearm to Rio Benn.

Both James and Hewitt were remanded until Friday, March, 29.

All appeared in the #1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today, and were not required to plead to the indictable offences. They were remanded into custody to Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds, St Philip. (PR)
